Scrapbook containing items for the life of Lord Byron: autograph letters, engravings, printed documents, (1891). A highly interesting scrapbook of about 90 leaves, containing portraits, pedigrees, biographical notices, literary comments, and autographs of Lord Byron, his relatives, and friends. Among its treasures are Byron’s autograph at the age of sixteen, letters from his sister Augusta Leigh concerning Don Juan, from his daughter Lady Lovelace, his nephew Richard Byron, Mrs. Spencer Smith (“Byron’s Constance”) and more. The volume also includes a lock of Byron’s hair, an intimate and poignant memento of the poet. It is bound in an elaborately decorated English leather binding.
