Large water pipe, complete except for the long curved outer flange at one end, which is broken away.
An inner flange at the same end to fit into the next pipe. A narrow flange around the outside at the other end. Rectangular cleaning hole with its lid in position. Incised (before firing) at the top (i.e. the same side as the cleaning hole) near the double-flanged end, the letters Χ Α, perhaps the number of the pipe section in the series (?).
Coarse Attic clay, thin wash of black glaze inside and at one end. No traces of cement at the joints.
