trial_description_8:
Ridge antefix, fragment from the lower part only.
The palmette springs from large spirals that grow out of acanthus leaves. Buff clay tempered with brown grit and surfaced with pale yellow clay.
In fabric and dimensions this piece agrees closely with the cover tile A 926 (1178), probably from the Stoa of Zeus, and its close similarity in design and motives to the via of the cornice of the Stoa provides another link.
Cf. also A 103, an eaves antefix almost certainly from the Stoa.
Also probably same series as A 4023.
