trial_description_8:
Upper right corner of block preserved with original rough-picked back. Joint surface at right with band of anathyrosis along top and front. Top smooth finished near front, rough-picked in center. Γ-shaped clamp cutting at right, with shallow rough hole to right of it. Much battered molding at top. Might be one of blocks of facing of an altar or monument.
Note that the clamp cutting is so near the front that it must be restored as a double gamma with legs in same direction, unless we assume the block to be from an inner corner.
Island marble.
Cf. Z-clamp on Foundation, 0.20m. long by ca. 0.47 m.; see p. 1909.
Cf. A 2893 for molding.
