Top and one end cut away, one end broken. Back rough finished with long vertical chisel strokes of a single point. Undercutting in middle of back for a shift bar. Metope faces finished with toothed chisel; triglyph faces with drove. This block, like A 3569, originally comprised three triglyphs and two metopes, and was cantilevered on a column. From an intermediate use are two small dowel holes 0.85m. apart near one edge of original underside (one retains iron) and two cuttings for the ends of bars in the original back.
