trial_description_8:
Fragment of coffer cover; original rough-picked "truncated pyramid" top and rough edges preserved. Original molding and two resting surfaces with setting lines preserved on lower surface. On one resting surface adjacent to the fracture, the letter Η (if an eta). The letter, setting lines and weathering make it virtually certain that its original place was on the southernmost frame now preserved over the west porch, in the 4th coffer from the west in the south row (i.e. B 7).
From the Temple of Hephaistos.
Island (Parian?) marble.
