trial_description_8:
Broken at both end and back. This block preserves the most complete profile of the geison series. The moldings from the top are: fascia, cyma reversa, corona, soffit, soffit molding of cyma reversa, beginning of fascia. Although we have no geison blocks with their bottom surfaces preserved, it is possible that below the lower fascia there would have been a row of dentils. We have two such fragments (A 3968 and a 3969) which have their lower surfaces preserved, but not their upper surfaces.
From Northeast Complex.
Pentelic marble.
