trial_description_8:
Much battered. Most of egg and dart of echinus, part of volutes and chips of abacus missing. Surface very worn. Echinus appears to originally have a carved egg and dart on an ovolo molding, and simplified palmette on corner. Volute appears to have had a circular flat eye. Semicircular bolsters have simple band with two raised edges in center. Abacus appears to be a half round. Both upper and lower resting surfaces of capital roughly worked. No sign of dowel. No mason's marks.
Probably used in the street stoa.
White marble.
