Broken at right and behind. Left side trimmed or reworked later, works of the drove still visible. Top has part of raised ridge to hold cover tiles, near edge. At right break a hole, presumably for a pin or nail, goes all the way through tile. Face decorated with a painted maeander; underside slipped for 0.07m. from front edge. Top, face, and front of underside carry a thick slip of fine yellow clay. Cf. A 4825. Dark pinkish buff clay with numerous large inclusions.
